ABOUT ME

Among piles of crisp stationery, rolls of hand-deckled paper and a worryingly large collection of pens and brushes, I spend my days in my London studio turning the humble envelope or placecard into something beautiful and utterly unique.

It’s fair to say I love lettering. It never ceases to amaze me how the 26 letters of the alphabet can be so versatile, instantly provoking a reaction long before the words themselves have actually been read. Even the most prosaic of texts can be made to look like a Shakespearean sonnet at first glance.

I have spent years studying calligraphy, illumination and heraldry under the tutelage of some of the world's leading calligraphers. In 2017 I was awarded the runners-up prize for Calligraphy and Illumination from the Worshipful Company of Scriveners of the City of London. I am a member of the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society and the South London Lettering Association.
